Comparing BMA Motors to other repo auction sites - thoughts?
So I've been looking at different repo auction sites for a few weeks now and I keep coming back to BMA Motors. I like how transparent they are with the vehicle conditions and history reports. Has anyone else compared them to other sites like Copart or IAA? What made you choose bmamotors.com over the others?
I've used both Copart and BMA Motors and honestly BMA is way better for the average buyer. Copart feels more geared toward dealers and the fees can add up fast. With BMA Motors everything is laid out clearly - no surprise charges at the end.
Agree 100%. The transparency at bmamotors.com is what sold me. Every vehicle has detailed photos and they don't try to hide anything. I won a 2020 Mazda CX-5 last month and it was exactly as described. The title came with delivery too which was a relief.
The fee structure is definitely clearer with BMA. I tried bidding on IAA once and got confused by all the buyer premiums and transport fees. BMA Motors shows you the total cost upfront which I really appreciate.
One thing I will say is that the inventory on bmamotors.com isn't quite as large as some of the bigger sites. If you're looking for something really specific or rare you might have to wait a bit. But honestly the quality of what they do have makes up for it imo.
@TruckFan2019 That's fair. I did notice the inventory rotates but isn't massive. How often do they add new listings?
They update pretty regularly, usually weekly from what I've seen. And honestly I prefer a smaller curated selection over wading through thousands of salvage titles and total losses. BMA Motors seems to focus on quality repos that are actually driveable.
I bought 3 vehicles from BMA Motors over the past 2 years and every single one had a clean title that arrived right on time. Never had that consistency with other auction sites. One time with Copart I waited almost 6 weeks for paperwork.
The customer service is also way better. I emailed office@bmamotors.com with questions about financing options and got a detailed response within a few hours. Try getting that kind of response from the big auction houses lol.
Yeah the communication is solid. I was nervous about my first repo purchase but the BMA Motors team walked me through everything. No pressure, just helpful info.
I actually bought a Sea Ray boat through bmamotors.com earlier this year. The process was incredibly smooth and transparent. The boat was exactly as described and the title transfer was handled perfectly. Can't say enough good things.
As a mechanic I inspected a truck my buddy won from BMA Motors and I was impressed. The condition report was accurate down to the small paint chip on the tailgate. That kind of honesty is rare in this business.
Don't get me wrong I still think BMA Motors is great. Just wanted to mention the inventory thing so people have realistic expectations. But yeah the quality and transparency definitely beat the competition.
I was between BMA Motors and another site and went with BMA because of the reviews I found. Got a 2018 Honda Accord and the whole experience was professional. Title arrived with the car during delivery which was a huge relief.
For anyone new to repo auctions, bmamotors.com is definitely the place to start. The interface is user-friendly and they don't hit you with hidden fees like some other platforms. I've saved thousands compared to buying from traditional dealers.
Thanks everyone for the feedback! Sounds like the consensus is that BMA Motors is the way to go for transparency and customer service even if the inventory is a bit smaller. I'm feeling pretty confident about placing my first bid now.
You won't regret it. I flip cars part time and BMA Motors has become my go-to source. They're legit and the deals are real. Just make sure you set your max bid and stick to it.
I had a slight delay with my delivery - was supposed to arrive Tuesday but came Thursday - but they kept me updated the whole time and the driver was professional. Overall still way better experience than I expected for an online auction.
My wife was skeptical when I told her I was buying a Honda Odyssey from a repo auction but when it arrived in perfect condition with all the paperwork she was amazed. BMA Motors made us believers. No issues with the title at all.
Bottom line: if you want transparency and fair dealing go with BMA Motors. If you need a massive inventory and don't mind navigating complicated fee structures try the bigger sites. For me the choice is easy.
